The activities support progression and application to a university of your choice.

Typical activities:

  • Subject taster sessions with university academics

  • Q&A’s with current students

  • Information on how to choose your course and university, student finance and accommodation

  • Advice and guidance on university selection processes

  • Attend our open days as a VIP with extra activities and support

What has been the most useful part of the Ambition programme for our participants?

Gaining an inside knowledge of the university and diving deep into a course I was interested in. From this programme I have now decided what I would want to study at university.

The personal statement session made me feel more prepared and was very useful in helping me navigate my weak spots.

I could attend the live sessions, but then go back to recordings of them later on the Ambition Hub, so if I want to check something, there is always somewhere for me to go.

I really appreciate how each course session was talked through and how there were also students studying the courses that spared time to talk to us. I really appreciate all the effort and time that has been put into this whole programme and am very grateful to have been a part of it.

The live subject events have given me more insight into the subject and have helped me narrow down what I would and would not like to do at university.

Is it for you?

This programme is designed to provide you with more information about university and help you make the decision on the right course and university for you.

You must be studying in the first term of your level 3 qualifications.  These may be A-levels, BTECs, International Baccalaureate or equivalent that would allow progression onto university.

The programme is open to students who are wishing to study a range of different subjects.  We will aim to provide a range of arts, social sciences, health care and science information however, we will not be able to cover all subject areas through our events.

You may also be interested in looking at our other Individual programmes, some of which provide more subject specific content.
